I'm a choreographer, performer, and educator based in Philadelphia. My work is dance, grounded in a movement practice that makes me feel invincible. It doesn’t always work. My work prioritizes indulgence and researches strategies of queer-ing. By using performance as a space to experiment with my own pleasure and excess, I hope to showcase an unlearning of deeply rooted restrictions. Recently an online quiz told me my number one value is “self-regulation.” I didn't like that, so now my work tries to sabotage those parts of selves that dissuade desires.
My work has been shown at the Icebox Project Space, Fringe Arts, and Headlong, as well self-produced in in fields, basements, and apartments. This fall, I was a collaborator on Killjoy’s Kastle, a lesbian-feminist haunted house, and am now dancing with Very Normal Neighbors. I’m a non-binary artist and I use they/them pronouns.
